Finding elbow guards that are comfortable, don’t give you arm pump and don’t slide down is like finding a carburetor needle clip when it jumps off and falls in the grass. My last quest for this elusive prize was about 3 years ago and led me to EVS’s BURLY guards. Tired of guards that always seemed to slide down, I went for a size that felt too tight – that worked well as they formed nicely to become very comfortable and stay in place. After a good few years of abuse and paying for themselves time and again, they have finally stretched and started to slide down.

This time I decided to try EVS’s new EPIC elbow guards. The EPIC’s offer a bit more substantial protection and have the same features I like in an elbow guard like the compression sleeve rather than straps – less likely to cause arm pump, good flexion in the elbow area, very lightweight and the silicon inside the elastic cuff to prevent sliding down.

So far I have worn the EPIC’s on two rides in Lesotho and found them very comfortable and … THEY STAYED IN PLACE!

Expect to pay about R660.00. Available from RAD MOTO, BIKER’S WAREHOUSE, MOTO MATE and other good dealers.
